Dr Afiniki Akanet is a graduate of Warwick Medical School and a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). She is a Section 12 approved GP, because of her extended experience in psychiatry. She has years of NHS GP experience in Coventry & Warwickshire, and was a GP partner in Oxfordshire.
Dr Akanet sees patients of all ages at the Grafton Suite and offers general GP services including the treatment of minor/acute illnesses, chronic disease management (and referrals as needed), health checks including blood pressure management, cancer screening, blood tests, scans, and consultations for the management of stress and mental health conditions.
There is no 10-minute limit at a Grafton Suite GP consultation. Seeing a private GP does not stop you from receiving ongoing care from your NHS GP, and Dr Akanet is happy to write to your GP, with your consent, for continuity of care. Private prescriptions and fit notes (formerly sick notes) can be provided, if needed.
Dr Akanet is also an Assistant Professor at Coventry University. She enjoys writing and spending time with her family when not at work. She is available for appointments at The Grafton Suite on Mondays and Wednesdays.
